Tong claims there is a plethora of anecdotal data whereby the abuse excuse (www.abuse-excuse.com) is used as a double-edged sword. Frequently, parents wield children as pawns and weapons in bitter divorces and custody battles hoping to obtain an upper hand in litigation. Less common, but still ever-present, criminals gravitate to their abusive childhood and the abuse excuse defense regarding why they turned psychopathic and sociopathic.
